The name Saintly Born represents the quiet power within each of us. In the tradition of sainthood, two miracles are required to earn the title — but I believe that life itself is a miracle. The act of waking up each day and continuing forward, especially through grief, struggle, or uncertainty, is an extraordinary feat. We are all born with the capacity to love, to heal, and to endure. That resilience is sacred. Saintly Born is a celebration of that strength — a reminder that we don’t have to wait for recognition to know our worth. We were born worthy, born radiant, and born saintly. This brand exists to honor that truth in every form and every soul it reaches.
Where it All began.
My mother, Tawana McGowan, was the kind of woman whose love left a permanent mark — not just on those who knew her, but on the world around her. She was strong, soft-spoken, deeply rooted, and full of quiet wisdom. Everything I am is because of her. When I lost her, I knew I needed to find a way to keep her legacy alive — not just in memory, but in something tangible, something that could be carried. That’s how this brand was born. Every piece I design is a dedication to her spirit — her elegance, her resilience, her warmth. I chose to work with wood because it reminds me of her strength and depth. Like the trunk of a tree, she held generations together. The wooden bags symbolize the family tree she built — the legacy she left behind and the roots that still ground me. These bags aren’t just fashion — they’re love, they’re lineage, and they’re a way for me to say her name out loud every time someone carries one.
